As Manager of Planning for NPG Solutions, Heather Sewell oversees a diverse range of projects from pre-project development to implementation, including vision development, partnership development, analysis and planning, and team assembly. She has been with the organization for several years and enjoys her responsibilities overseeing staff, managing client relationships, and leading projects.

Heather has a particular passion for working with the

government and helping to influence and shape policy and execution to help build equitable and sustainable communities that provide opportunities for all members to thrive. With municipal clients and with all other stakeholders and clients that NPG Solutions engages with, Heather has earned a well-deserved reputation as a solutions-oriented planner who is an excellent communicator and collaborator.

Prior to joining NPG Solutions, Heather acquired a broad scope of professional experience through roles as a project coordinator with Branthaven Development, as a planner with IBI Group, and undertaking business development and community development projects with Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation. She has a deep understanding of the region, having worked on projects across Toronto, York Region, Waterloo, Halton, Hamilton, Niagara, and Durham.

Heather holds a Master of Science in Planning from the University of Toronto where she focused on urban planning and affordable housing for seniors. Previously, she studied at Seneca College and completed an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies at York University, with an emphasis on planning. Professionally, Heather is proud to be a Member of the Canadian Institute of Planners (MCIP) and to be a Registered Professional Planner (RPP) with the Ontario Professional Planners Institute (OPPI).

John Henricks is the President and founder of NPG Solutions. He established NPG in 2017 with the goal of addressing a need in the market for a strong urban planning consulting. John brings a wealth of experience in municipal and land use planning, as well as land development. He has held management positions in the public and private sector of Ontario and Alberta. John is relentless in his commitment to make all of our clients successful.

As president of NPG Solutions, John leads through the empowerment of his staff and believes that his primary role is to facilitate the success for his stakeholders, both internally and externally. He priorities customer service and always keeps a clear focus on how to best sustain our communities and make them a better place for people to live and work. Clients and stakeholders of NPG Solutions appreciate John’s positive energy, personal approach and infectious enthusiasm.

As an integral part of community building and place making, urban design’s best practices are incorporated in every design and planning solution NPG provides through a collaborative process across all NPG activities. This allows us to provide holistic solutions to even the most complex and multifaceted problems that our clients face.
