Asawari Modak is a Planner with NPG Planning Solutions. Asawari’s education and experience is in Planning, Urban Design, Architecture and Research. She is involved in a diverse range of projects at NPG, from land development and municipal planning to housing and urban design. Asawari brings a greatly valued and unique skill set to the team with her technical design background and understanding of planning principles. Through her work in the public and private sector of Calgary, Turkey and her internships in India and Kenya, Asawari has explored various aspects of
Asawari completed her Bachelor of Architecture Degree from Izmir Institute of Technology, a renowned university in Turkey. After working as an Architect in Istanbul, Turkey she was intrigued by the possibilities of design on a larger scale. She then went on to pursue and complete a Master of Planning degree from the University of Calgary, where she gained experience in inclusive, equitable and collaborative communities. During her time at the University of Calgary, she also contributed to research projects in the planning and urban design field. Asawari is now working towards becoming an RPP and wants to contribute to building equitable communities.
In her spare time, Asawari likes to take on interior design projects. She also has a love for food and enjoys exploring various cuisines and trying her hand at cooking.
